Guidelines
Unfair, unethical or illegal activities by any participating party
are grounds for exclusion from the program.
a) for organizations:
- Notify musicians of any pertinent changes to booked events
as soon as possible
- Make venue available to musicians early enough on the date
of performance for them to setup in a comfortable fashion.
- Provide musicians with easy access to venue (e.g. An auditorium
on the second story is not easy access unless there is an elevator.)
- If possible, provide musicians with help loading their equipment
in and out of the venue.
- Where appropriate, provide musicians with lighting, sound reinforcement
and technicians.
- Provide refreshments to musicians and their supporting staff
that are appropriate for the event.
b) for musicians:
- Minimum of one performance per calendar year to qualify for
online listing (Musicians will be listed on the Participating
Acts Page following their first performance.)
- Musicians agree to arrive on time, stay for the length of the
agreed-upon performance, wear sensible clothing, and behave in
a manner that is appropriate for the situation. (i.e. Use common
sense.)
- Musicians agree to be alcohol and drug free during their performances
unless the event serves alcohol to adults.
- Music with profane, racist or violent content, stated or implied,
is not permitted.
Recommendations to musicians:
- We strongly
recommend that musicians accept shows that are less than two months
in advance.
- We also urge musicians to play music that is appropriate for
the situation. (e.g.) If you are a tatooed, body-pierced rap-influenced
metal band, you're probably not going to be well-received at a
senior center.
Recommendations to organizations:
Make sure that acts volunteering to help you are playing music that
suits your needs.
Disclaimer:
Gigs for Kids is not responsible for loss of any kind by any participating
party. Musicians and human-service organizations agree to participate
at their own risk. All arrangements between musicians and organizations
are subject to proven detention by sickness, accidents, riots, strikes,
epidemics, acts of God, or any other legitimate conditions beyond
the control of the either party. |
